Mind Reading T-Shirt Instructions

   Tell your audience member to rest their finger on the full moon on the back of your shirt.

   Tell them to think of a number between 5 and 20.

   Tell them to count that number clockwise around the circle of planets — number 1 would be the half-moon, 2 the crescent moon, 3 Earth, 4 Neptune, and so on — until they land on a planet at their chosen number.

   Now tell them to count that same number counterclockwise around the circle until they land on a different planet — ignoring the moons this time.

   Assuming they've followed your instructions exactly, they will always land on Mars — but don't tell them you know that!

   Now ask them to scan the QR code on the sun with their phone. When they do, it will pull up a webpage "reading their mind" and telling them they are on Mars!

Tips

• Don't perform the trick more than once — otherwise they may realize the planet is always the same.
• So they don't think you're sensing which planet they're on through the shirt, invite them to hover their finger over each planet instead of pressing onto them.
• Consider closing your eyes during the procedure. This adds to the impossibility!
